Our vision is to provide a biblically-based, Christ-centered, loving environment where the members can grow in their relationship with God and understand God’s plan of salvation for their lives. Our desire is that every member be committed to the greatest commandments (Matthew 22:37-39). We earnestly promote love in every aspect of ministry including the extension of our ministry in outreach. We firmly believe that LOVE NEVER FAILS!

Our Purpose::::

Evangelism – Messenger of God’s love
Ephesians 3:17-19
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Colossians 2:2
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Ministry – Minister of God’s grace

Act 20:24
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Discipleship – Model of God’s character
Galatians 5:22-24
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Philippians 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Fellowship – Member of God’s family
Galatians 4:4-7
4But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Worship – Magnifier of God’s name
Philippians 3:3
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

The Master’s Child Church, formerly known as the Master’s Child Glorious Church of God in Christ, was founded in the year of 1971 under the leadership of the late Bishop Melvin Robinson, Sr. and Co-founder, Erma Robinson. At that time, services were held at 304 Q Street in the Northeast corridor of Washington, D.C. Through this leadership and guidance, many souls were added to the church. Four pillars of the church that helped build the foundation of the church were Elder and Sister Coles, Sister Grace Saul and Mother Carrie Cousar.

In 1979, the church relocated to 1508 P Street in the northeast corridor of Washington D.C. and through God’s blessings, He continued to add souls to the church. In 1981, the church moved to 3201 Farragut Street in Hyattsville, Maryland. The church began holding yearly revivals that were conducted by the late Elder Eugene Cottle from Brooklyn, New York. Due to the overwhelming church growth, the church was once again in search of a larger facility for worship.

In 1994, and through God’s wonderful vision, the church relocated to two locations (2715 22nd Street in the Northeast corridor of Washington DC, and 9th & V Street in the Northwest corridor of Washington DC) before moving to 3702-04 Old Silver Hill Road in Suitland, Maryland. In 1998, Bishop Melvin Robinson, Sr. became very ill. He began appointing the leadership to key roles to continue the vision God had set forth for the church. In 1999 before his demise, Bishop Melvin Robinson, Sr. elevated Elder Melvin Robinson, Jr. to Pastor of the Master’s Child Glorious Church of God In Christ. In 2000, Pastor Melvin Robinson, Jr. re-incorporated the church as a non-profit organization in good standing with the State of Maryland and renamed the church: The Master’s Child Church, Inc. severing all ties with the Glorious Church of God In Christ. Pastor Robinson elevated 2 Deacons to Elders, re-structured the Pastoral and Ministerial Staff, selected a Board of Trustees to oversee the business infrastructure and developed several new ministries including a Media Ministry. Pastor Robinson began his radio broadcast ministry and can be heard on the Spirit of 1340am WYCB every Saturday at 10:00am. In 2001, Pastor Robinson formed LovingKindness Ministries, Inc. – the non-profit (501©3) outreach arm of the Master’s Child Church.

In 2003, Pastor Robinson was elevated to the office of the Bishopric by Apostle Floyd E. Nelson, Sr. (first presiding Bishop of the Bible Way Churches Worldwide). In March 2003, Bishop Robinson led the church in an historical event by moving the church from renting a 4,000 square foot store front building in Suitland, Maryland to purchasing a 19,000 square foot building in District Heights, Maryland where the church currently holds worship services. The Master’s Child Church Worship Center is located at 2001 Brooks Drive in District Heights, Maryland and sits in the center of the District Heights community.

In 2007, LovingKindness Ministries, Inc. launched Project Independence to develop and build an affordable senior housing facility for the senior citizens population of the community.
